izaiah comes from a humble, middle-class family from the land of qashon; his father a shepherd, and his mother a priestess. qashon, a neighboring region to the district of minya, differed heavily in religious and cultural views — this struck a quarrel between the higher-ups of the two lands, and scattered a young izaiah's family. he learned quickly to survive, earning himself a position as a scribe under a prominent doctor of minya. through this, the boy learned common, and familiarized himself with the ins and outs of a different culture; but never once did he let go of his roots.

the doctor has now sent him elsewhere to seek further training and to "round him out" — but izaiah has no plans of returning.
