@Blue @Cobalt here to join as discussed <3

Crossing during a low tide, Ariadne now found themselves stuck on the island of squawking birds. Stood at the rock side of the shore they looked across the water at the land they had ventured from.

They knew better than to try and swim across; they would need to wait until the tide went back down. However the scent of other's was on the wind, and Ariadne was not one to fight when there was nowhere to run.

They would have to hope for the best - put on an innocent face and hope sympathy would be given.

being vague but didn't want this to sit and i forget <3

he did not recognize this one, not that such a thing is any surprise.

this would not be one he could miss after he spotted them. with their odd ears and the rich coloring like the shoreline at night. he knows he cannot speak to them, but he is still willing to meet them.

his tail waves behind him and his posture is open, inviting.

Feeling eyes on their back Ariande was quick to turn around with a firm expression and bristling coat - though their guard soon lowered once the other was spotted. They didn't appear to be much of a threat with their wagging tail and soft stance.

Were they too, stuck here? Or did this wolf live on the island? There was only one way to find out. "Do you know when the tide will go back down?" They called out, expecting an answer of some sort from the other.

They began a slow approach, moving away from the rocky ledge.

They were never far from one another. Blue approached at Cobalt's back, her own tail a welcoming banner behind her. She regarded the girl with a tilt of her head. No words were spoken for now.

Had she come to try to claim this island, too? Or would she join them?

he is not surprised that she is there.

for a moment his gaze is only for her. warm and inviting into this situation. he did not get the taste of danger being here.

the question that had been asked was met with him looking up towards the sky. an attempt to judge the point in the tides by way of the sun. yet all he can give is —

a shrug of his sharp shoulders.

his gaze invites the stranger into further speech, though. even if he cannot reciprocate. perhaps if they had anything interesting enough to say, blue would speak for them.

A sigh. There was nowhere to go if they did return to the mainland, Ariadne supposed. Brow furrowed momentarily as they looked to the ground, they soon glazed over the sour expression to look back to the other's.

"Have you two been here long, then?" The purpose of the vague question was not to make conversation, but rather to gauge the safety of the situation. However they did not wait before asking another. "Has this territory been claimed?"

These things were necessary to know if they had to remain on the island for any amount of time.

Blue had come too late to hear the question called out, but she saw now that the yearling was no girl. Blue couldn't quite be sure what this wolf was — or even that they were wholly a wolf, with those odd ears, but she supposed it didn't matter. The youth was polite enough.

Nodding, she stepped closer. Blackfeather, She said softly. That's our family. The island is called Wheeling Gull. He's Cobalt - a gesture then to her companion - and I'm Blue.

Are you lost?

How had they ended up here?

can be skipped/PP'd by blue <3

he gave only a brief warm look to the new arrival when the blackfeather said his name.

for it was who he was now. cobalt. a man made in shades of blue. his heart thumped steadily and he remained at the ready should it be needed.

he knew blue would say only things he would agree with.

his attention split between the stranger and her.

If they were the wolves staking a claim on the island, then that made things much easier.

They seemed friendly enough - and Ariadne was able to relax. "You won't be too upset if I stay until the tide goes then?"

"I'll stay out of your way."
