Oh Daddy! :D For @Arrluk when you have time. :) I'm in need of wholesome daddy/daughter content.
Ahna does not know Aluet yet, so the voice speaks to her in both Inupiaq and common. Thread title translates as "sunshine." Translations taken from inupiaq online

The warm morning sun rose, just as it had for the last 3 weeks of Ahna's new life. After a breakfast of warm milk, which quickly induced a food coma, she woke again to the sunshine peeking through the den mouth.
She looked around, until her eyes found what she was looking for; Her Adax̂ (father).
At the sight of her father, her little tail wagged back and forth. She squirmed forward, but quickly realizing that this wouldn't get her to far, to fast. When she stopped to think, there was suddenly a voice; akin to that little voice inside your head that spoke when you needed it most. "¤qikata, qitunġaq; Stand up, child." --"Sarvaq; move forward."
Even though she knew not the meaning of these words, the voice encouraged her, and she tried to rise to her feet. She stumble once; twice; but on her third attempt, she succeeded. The next step was to move forward. On wobbly legs, she place one paw in front of the other, slowly moving towards her father. And once she reach him, she flopped down on her belly, with her legs outstretched in front of and behind her. She looked up at Arrluk, and let out a sharp "Arf!" to let her father know about her accomplishment. Her eyes were bright, full of life!

Gotcha! Although I think (as far as Arrluk's family and the terms often used) is more Inupiaq/Inupiat!
Hard had these weeks been on the new first time father. Yet he took the heaviness in his eyes, the soreness in his legs and stiffness in his neck with both stride and pride.
He was a father of Moonglow now. He was Tóangun, Waterman of the villages.
It was with this pride, yet a wince as his raw neck was jerked side to side, did he hoist a fish from the river and flop it and himself onto the lake bed.
Knowing the well needed respite for his wife, Arrluk does not wait long for rest until he is getting up once more, taking the fish and bringing it to the ulaq of the Starhunter. Within the red and gold of Aumauttuk grove, he would settle the fish at the mouth of the den and take a few steps in. The squeaks of his new pups to greet him, a sharper tone from Ahna, who struggled at her first steps yet announced her accomplishment.
Paniga. He licks each of them on their little noses and cheeks. First, to the dark face of Ahna, then to the pale one of Chinook.
