Perhaps Luke was just a bit impatient (for how patient he could be in some situations). He'd rather throw it on the table and work from there rather than stew on it and be left to wonder. Would Mordecai feel less overwhelmed in the future anyway? Unless she planned to somehow ease him into the idea the blue-nosed wolf was doubtful. And who knew, perhaps Mordecai would be delighted for the prospect of a fresh start. Ultimately, Luke did not prefer to wait because one never knew what was around the corner, or if one would even get a chance to look around said corner.
