Rhett's malcontent at his comment seemed to bother him, Tatsuya noted. Reflecting back on what he said, “old fart” probably was not the wisest word choice. Maybe something like “fossil” or “geezer.” Jokes aside, the graying male had shown enough aversion with a huff to silence Tatsuya from saying anything similar to “old fart” in the future. Well, Tatsuya could be an ass about it, but maybe there was some reason for Rhett's dislike of being referred to as old; like the old were something to be ashamed of. Honestly, if Rhett really was old by Tatsuya's standards, he could have shut him down. Being old did not necessarily mean weak or feeble-minded.
INDENTTatsuya stared at Rhett, the tiniest of smiles visible upon his maw. Was there a bit of...knowing in that expression? No...no, it must be the imagination.
