He smelled a party, and promptly put on his party hat...

...Just kidding.

Impulsive as ever, the blue-nosed wolf decided to make good on his promise to himself to wander south sometime and check on his companion. He would make it a quick trip, pausing only to rest so that he was not absent from the hollow for too long. Knowing the caldera wolves did not appreciate visitors at their door, he took a route that would bring him south of his companion's claim in a neighboring forest. From here, he may be able to catch Peregrine passing by, or at least holler out a hello and an invite to come chat. But what he found was not what he bargained for, and certainly nothing he could have even dreamed of.

The presence of wolves in the wood was not lost on him, but at the same time he caught his companion's scent he caught the not so distant sounds of conflict. Concerned and curious, he abandoned all his wonder about the strong presence of additional wolf scent, and hurried toward the racket. He arrived in time to see wolves attacking wolves, and as his heart beat in his chest, his mind scrambling for the best course of action, he did what came natural to him. He did a Luke thing.

"HEY HEY HEY!" he shouted, projecting his voice above the fray as best he could, with every ounce of power from his lungs, in hope that he could catch their attention. Despite the uncertainty and nervousness that he felt, he held himself as friendly, tail waving and expression open and smiling as he stood on the edge of the circle of conflict. "Party here or what!? Come on guys, what's going on, eh? Who wants to have a game of hide and go seek?" Maybe, just maybe, he would be heard, and is absurd presence would be enough of a distraction to stop further bloodshed.

Or perhaps he'd get his blue nose bitten off.

It was a gamble.
