The elk fell to the ground, and other poured onto it. Blood was gushing from its wounds, and Charon knew that they had been victorious then. He wasn't sure who exactly finished the job, but he was glad when they finally got it down. Jorunn further instructed the pack what they would do with the meat then, although Charon could barely wait to dig in. The hunt had made him hungry. He waited for whatever tradition would be upheld, however, surprised that Jorunn knew so much of Ragnar's traditions even though he had not even grown up with his father.
