Charon nodded as Flóki said he would go to patrol and returned a nudge to Flóki's shoulder, and then he looked at Ame. As she passed, Charon managed to land a nip on Ame's cheek before she wandered off, and he, too, went off in a different direction. Knowing that Flóki was headed on towards the borders, Charon remained in land and found a nice perch from which he could watch the landscape of the Teekon and drift off into a peaceful slumber, feeling content despite the knowledge of all the new packs round them.
