Eventually the tie between them loosened and Charon felt Ame's weight disappear. When she motioned to follow he did so without question. The fondness between them had never really been put into words or logic. It simply was there. To some their bonding might seem like a political one, forged by the fact that they were both Alphas and thought it logical to reproduce. But there was more behind it. Things that Charon, neither, could ever put into words. She made him feel at ease, gave him peace whenever his mind raged towards revenge — and yet fueled him at times, when it was wise to do so, when the odds were in their favour — and for all of that, she was simply a perfect match for him.

And so he followed, wondering what the future would bring and hoping that this time the future would bring them children, as he so desired, to continue their legacy.
