Yet it gave him credit to admit so out loud, and his answer was solid; not only was he honest, he also made a promise of sorts for the future, a hopeful glimpse into what might be and what he might feel for this place in the long run.

Again he glanced briefly at the dude's companion before he said, directed at both of them: "Your companions'll have to join up and share their interest themselves, however." He waited then, for the female to take the hint and step forward to submit to her new leader while she gave him a reason to accept her, or leave.
