Nanook sensed no mal-intentions from Birk - he indeed seemed a respectable man - but she wondered, was Desna wise in letting a stranger march so freely among them, so soon after meeting, with little more to trust in than his word?

But of course, she had never run a pack before, nor did she have the experience of her sister. And, she reminded herself, while she was an equal in blood, she still ranked far beneath her sister in the hierarchy. Her place to speak was not here.
