His mouth hung open as he gave her a look that simply screamed UM, OFFENDED!!???, which fortunately for him, gave the meat soup time to dribble onto his tongue and then subsequently down his throat when he felt compelled to swallow. The boy began to lick his lips then, trying to clean himself up and totally not trying to eat the horrible, evil not-milk because it was evil and not-milk, and accidentally swallowing more.
