Mahler's compliment caused the boy to pause mid gasp and practically inflate with pride. It was not often he earned the esteem of others, and he had been worried his delayed action might harm them. Instead, he had earned the General's good word, and for that the boy had a spirited kick to his step all the way home, following Mahler faithfully as they turned to mark Diaspora's claim anew.
