She was still processing what she'd been told. It seemed almost unreal at this point, and maybe to someone else it would have seemed like closure, but to her it had ripped open a closed door and now she was left just metaphorically staring at it, uncertain what to do. It had been easier to be angry.

Since running into Pike, she hadn't returned to the borders, but it hadn't been more than a day or two, so not the end of the world there. Those who didn't know her probably wouldn't even notice. Instead of doing her patrols, she lingered lakeside. She'd walked along the shore earlier, but now had retreated to lay under a tree not far away.

Arbiter needed to either sort through her thoughts or find a distraction. Alone, she'd probably just do the former, eventually, once she figured out even where to begin. Then again, with others, she wasn't too keen to share her feelings with anyone. That just wasn't her.
