With renewed vigor, Derg surged against the man, and as he let up just slightly, Derg freed himself and retreated back to the brindle man.
He could feel the sting of numerous bites from where the man had tried to keep his hold on him. The tickle of blood through his fur.

He bristled, letting himself calm for a moment. Or try to. He stared at the man, hard and evenly. Lips twitching.
But as he spoke again, Derg let himself move forwards at the man again. Ready to let blood and fur be ripped and fly.
