It felt as though things had begun to change for Mojag. He noticed it sometimes when he stopped by the water to grab a drink; like Narcissus, he could become transfixed by his own reflection. His eyes had gotten muddy looking in the week previous and only now started to clear, shifting briefly from the baby blue to a strange hazel, until they looked as they did in this moment — yellow, like buttercups.
There had been other less noticeable changes that had begun as well: his paws were getting steadily father away from him. He often hungered for red meat instead of milk. He'd lost almost half of his baby teeth! There was more time for Mojag to grow and fill out — he was only starting his growth spurt — but there was enough change happening that he was intrigued by the more noticeable aspects.
He could run after @Callyope with greater ease, now. And when @Stratos wanted to wrestle, Mojag had a bit of a height advantage (and so was asked less and less frequently to join in, but of this he was oblivious). It was fortunate that the visitors had arrived from Natigvik when they had; the two boys they brought with them looked like worthy adversaries for the boundless energy and enthusiasm of Mojag.
When he heard a low voice near the ulax Mojag left the puddle of water and sought out the origin. As he climbed he came across the chosen spot where the visitors had made their camp, as they were welcomed in to the village as if they belonged there.
