Wild Berry Meadow The Lost

Sovereign felt an icy spear sear straight through her chest as Maiken told her of what had happened.
Adlartok, dead.
Papa was gone. 

Sov felt the urge to cry, underneath the cold enclosing her shocked heart.
She could almost hear herself screaming on the inside and the pain, unbeknownst to her, showed all too clearly in her amber gaze. 

Yet the rest of her face, stone.

The princess shook her head softly at Maiken's apologies, "Hildibrandr being lost to the wind is not your fault, nor Papa's." 
She knew it was all hers. 
Her mother's too, perhaps, though the reality of such a thing had yet to fully settle on her. 
"I would offer to return with you, but..." The yearling glanced over her shoulder, towards the vast Lake that could be seen glinting in the distance from the light of the sky.
"A friend I made when I was younger, he helped me get into a pack that's forming on the Lake, that way...I do not know if I would be welcomed back if I were to make the journey."
