Big Salmon Lake A thousand years

She followed him into the water, and the coolness sent a shiver through her body. Only for a moment though, just until her body acclimated. This summer had been hot, much hotter than what she was used to. The water felt delightfully cool; invigorating.

Val tried his best to put on an unimpressed expression, but a smile bloomed on his face regardless. 

“Good times.” She replied, “If only it was that easy.” She had a wistful tone to her voice. “Ya know, just being here with you takes a some of the weight off my mind.”
