Charon looked at the shell and was glad that the bird was finally praising him now, rather than telling him off for being stupid. Shiv said that he should do it again, and while Charon saw some of the meat he decided to trust the expert (otherwise he probably would've cut his sensitive nose on the edges of the shells while trying to pry out the meat).

The youth nodded at Shiv and grabbed the shell between his teeth again. Charon held it high above his head and then threw it at the rock again, causing more pieces of shell to fly off. He trotted over to where the crab had landed and carefully started to paw at the insides of the crab, not sure what to do with it now or how to get it out now that the shell was cracked open.
