Blacktail Deer Plateau Birdfeeder

She saw that Koda was dozing off. She got up and nudged him, "I'd love to! Unless you would rather sleep!" She smiled and turned around, sniffing the air to catch a sent. She smelled squirrels here and there, but a rabbit in the distance seemed more appealing to her. Without waiting, she darted off swiftly but nimbly towards the smell, expecting Koda to follow. It felt weird not hunting with the wolves she had always hunted and fighted besides. But she was willing to give these wolves a chance, though she had felt so independent herself. As she neared the smell, her pace slowed and her belly brushed on the forest floor. Her ears flattened on her skull and she started to creep up on it, one paw after the other.

The rabbit seemed to have sensed her coming because it looked her way and darted in the different direction. She wasn't going to give up that easily. She bolted after it, her paws pounding hardly on the floor. She let the rabbit run and have its fun for awhile. Her tactic was to let the furball's energy drain, then attack. She chased it for awhile, not paying attention to anything but the prey. As she saw the rabbit start to slow down, she darted up and landed a blow that took it out of its misery. Her teeth sunk into its neck to suffocate the furry creature. She felt satisfied with her kill.
