As she had done before, the huntress had caught first a small catch. insignificant to her, one who prefered the hunt to be a challenge. yet for another, grounded predator, it would suffice, especially now that winter approached quickly. thus she soared over the river, lazy circles becoming lower and lower until the topmost branches of trees were inches below her talons, the body of the fox a larger weight then she would have liked to carry.

. she dropped it then, listening as branches snapped and finally the thud as it hit earth. the she landed with deadly silence on a sturdy branch, fierce gaze fixated on the rather dead fox and the much more exciting prey it might bring forth.
