Liri shuddered at his violent promise, and he feared he had scared her. Her next words eased his fear, though, because she asked him to stay with her as she rested. If she were scared of him, she wouldn't trust him here while she slept. "I'll stay with you for as long as you'd like," he replied with a slow bow of his head. He felt his heart tighten at the realization that, for him, the promise extended past this moment and into the unknown future. 

His little wolf nuzzled his neck, and a contented sigh escaped his lips at the touch. He slowly lowered himself to the ground, lying so that she could easily sidle up next to him. He watched her and waited to feel the warmth of her body next to his.
