Eventually, she hears the ducks and her large ears stand up straight and her attention causes her to stutter in her steps. Birds make things a little different. These aren’t Mirabelle’s chickens. These aren’t anybody’s chickens.
She doesn’t get too close, though, when an imposing white figure steps out of nowhere. At first, she doesn’t react. She’s used to big white wolves but all the ones she knows are friendly. She scarcely realizes the anger in his face. No one has ever really… been angry at her and her eyes go wide, uncertain what to do. He gets closer and she hears the growl, her stomach dropping all the way to her butt and very easily her legs buckle beneath her and she rolls over.
