the night is young and clear, and the stars are bright tonight. a perfect night. the sunset-furred mayfair is sprawled in the snow, belly-up with limbs stretched out as he watches the stars. his thick fur pools around him like molten gold, shielding him from the frigid winter temperatures. he's content in a way he can't remember feeling in a long time; the feeling of safety, of having a home is irreplaceable.
he sighs softly, gaze tracing the constellations. the only thing that had given him hope before this had been the song, the feeling that his fate is written in the glowing heavens; even now, he clings to the notion. he has heard only silence in his solitude for some time, but he's certain the stars will sing to him again soon. they would not have brought him this far only to abandon him. he only has to wait.
