Yes it is, he replied. So it seemed he wasn't the only one who found life without a pack to be not all it seemed. Of course, he was bogged down with responsibility that he found out too late he didn't want, in a pack that he felt viewed him as only a tool and not a man, so anything seemed better than that. Still, he was growing tired of the survival life, and he knew that soon he would be driven into pack-life once more; hopefully his next pack would be more deserving of his loyalty. 

It didn't take them long to reach to edge of the mountains. East didn't stop there but began to climb, searching for any indication the the herd had been here recently. There were none of the distinctive tracks among the loose rock and dirt or any lingering scent of deer anywhere that he could tell as he climbed higher. Occasionally, he glanced back to make sure his new tracking partner was still following, but mostly he kept his nose to the ground in search for anything of interest. After some time, their trek brought them to the large mouth of a cave in the side of the mountain. He could only see darkness inside, and the cloudy day offered no additional light. Curious as always, East stepped closer, cautiously sniffing the air around the opening as he stopped close enough the darkness to slowly peer in. He couldn't really tell much from where he stood other than there were no dangerous scents wafting from the cave, but he was overcome with the strong urge to go inside and explore. he turned back to the other man, a questioning look on his face. It's not the deer, but it looks interesting, he said with a shrug. Want to go inside and explore? he asked, hoping his answer would be yes.
