As Calcifer attempted to dig into the cold wet earth water slashed around him. His large paws plunging into the water created air pockets that grumbled beneath him. The water tried to hold tight together and moved inconsistently as it was forced away from itself. Droplets of water flashed before Calciferes eye, but he remained intensely focused on the smooth stone below. 

The only thing to break his focus was the glimpse of white dropping out of the air in the corner of his eye. He turned his head and scanned the area, unsure of what his eyes spotted. At first, he remained confused and his head moved all around, but then, downstream was a figure in white. It wasn't that of a wolf and initially, he wasn't sure if it was moving. But the longer he stared the more he swore it was moving. Could it just be the breeze?

He glanced back into the water and beneath the water, he could see that set stone was still stuck. However, his attempts to free it had scratched its surface and it no longer appeared to be as smooth. He had ruined it. Feelings of disappointment or guilt would have entered his consciousness, but curiosity overpowered them as Calcifer looked back towards the white figure.

With his previous pursuits at an end, he began to walk towards the figure slowly. He stepped out of the water and trailed along the shore, opposite of the figure and attempted to approach it slowly.
