All Welcome
all welcome~! i prefer someone Charon hasn't yet met like such as @Mees @Rain ? :)

Charon worried where Atreyu had gone; he could not help but wonder if he had been taken by the bears, or if he had fled when he had found out about them. Atreyu wasn't one for fleeing, though; except that one time when a bear had taken his leg, but that shit was pretty fucked up, so Charon understood that someone would flee in terror if something like that happened. Now, though... No traces of blood or struggle had been found, and so Charon worried for his friend, for even though he had been mad when they'd left the Bay, even if their start when Charon was just a little boy at the Bay had been rocky, Atreyu had always been a loyal and trusty friend. And now he was gone; yet another cornerstone of Charon's youth ripped away. Perhaps that was how all of his life would be. Thistle Cloud seemed the only thing left in his life that was still as it were, and even if he had not spent much quality time with her since Moonspear was founded (perhaps because he was busy, perhaps because of guilt or shame, or perhaps because their paths had simply not crossed out of coincidence) Charon appreciated his adoptive mother deeply for all that she gave him.

Today, around noon, Charon was following the trail of the bears, obsessed with finding out more about their patterns and therefore coming closer to figuring out the best way to get them. With eyes narrowed the young Alpha held his nose to the ground, though tail was flagged high above his back, focussed on following the bears' trail so he could observe them from afar. He followed a rocky path with little trees along its sides along the mountainside, feeling safe and confident knowing that he was in open space and therefore would not easily turn around a corner to find bears there; he could easily observe them from afar, then.

Although bears were far from cuddly, fuzzy creatures, Mees didn't and couldn't understand why the Moonspear pack was so obsessed by them. Also, he didn't know why there were two bears instead of just one. Agression from bears varied from animal to animal but it also depended on the circumstances, having youngsters or defending a territory. Mees couldn't imagine why the bears would stick around though, this pack was swamped by wolf scent – or stench – and not even two bears could fight against a pack of drooling, mad wolves. Bears weren't the smartest – Mees thought – one way or the other, by sticking around.

Still, going on a solo-mission to fight off these bears was both brave and stupid all at once. Mees figured that it was his duty, as newly accepted greenbie and wanna-be advisor, to safe this wolf from perishing against big, bad black bears. As he trailed around the faint scent of bears flared through his nostrils but also the scent of another wolf. He had smelled the scent before, at the borders as a marker, and he could attach a name to it. Ame had said something about Charon but he already forgot that it was the other Alpha. Sometimes a loner's life had left him with poor social skills. Thus, when Charon came into his eyesight, he saw no independent fierce leader. Mees saw just a boy, roughly a few months yonger. And as boy's among each other, he decided to act like one.

”Hey, hey jerk-face.” Said Mees, his voice amicable and kind. Words were said like Charon was 'one of the guys' and the newly accepted Mu trying to be like one. Trying to fit in. ”Are you on a bear hunt?”

Charon's ear fell back as he noted someone approach. He did not recognise the wolf, and therefore assessed that he had to be one of the new wolves in the pack, one of the wolves Ame had accepted. He wrinkled his nose as the amicable words came out, and only their friendly intonation kept their owner from being pummeled in some form or another. Keeping his voice light-hearted and joking, Charon answered: "That's Mr Alpha, for future reference. But Charon will do too."

Realising that the new guy had asked about the bears, Charon answered: "Not on a hunt, obviously, since I'm on my own. Just tracking 'em so we can find their weak spot."

”How about 'Ron?” Horcrux asked genuinely as he truthfully wasn't trying to stretch the names he could call his leaders; he had difficulty pronnouncing them – even his own. So Amekaze became Ame and hopefully Charon would be 'Ron. Usually he'd call himself 'Crux, save for an introduction. But somehow, for an unknown reason, names made him stutter. ”I'm Hor-r-r-Crux but you can call me Crux for short.”

That Charon mentioned bears was no surprise, Ama had mentioned them as well. ”Why are the bears such a big threat to the pack? Have they already caused harm?” Curiously his eyes radiated, though he didn't ask; can I join just yet. Though, the eagerness was obvious in his energy.

"Yeah, sure," Charon said off-handedly, not really caring all that much what the new guy would call him, as long as he was respectful. 'Crux' was still a mouthful, but Charon nodded in acknowledgement of the name anyway.

Horcrux asked if the bears had already caused harm to the pack, and Charon's first thought was 'yes', but on second thought he had to acknowledge that the real answer was 'no'. "We've had lots of trouble in my old pack with them. They're unpredictable, so it's better to get rid of them than to let them rampage about and wait for casualties." Charon thought of Atreyu briefly, and his chest tightened at the thought that maybe the bears'd gotten him, but he pushed the thoughts away for now.

When 'Ron replied positive on his quest to join, the excited boy was already two steps ahead and waiting for directions. Like a true adventurer – think Indiana Jones – he puffed his chest forward as if none would dare to face them. ”Good, good; let's go then!” Crux said, excited and jumpy at once. Though in truth he had no idea where Charon wanted to go just yet.

However, Crux still wasn't completely satisfied by the answer that Charon had given him; it raised even more questions. Why were bears so unpredictable? What had they done? And would mountain lions be next? ”What sorts of trouble in your old pack?” He asked qenuinely, then added; ”Was your old pack also situated here?” Or was the rough bear chase based on bad experiences from the past.

Charon blinked when the new dude suggested they should 'go', since he didn't recall saying anything about going anywhere, and in his confusion asked: "Go?" Well, whatever, didn't really matter anyway. As he continued to track the bear scents, Charon answered Crux' questions: "Nah, the old pack was Stavanger Bay, it was a bit to the north, at the seaside, as the name suggests. It was a different bear, I think, I dunno. They all look alike anyway, big dumb brownish lugs."

Charon didn't really care to know that much about bears, anyway; not more than he needed to kill them. He looked at Crux as he asked: "Do you know anything useful about bears that we could use?"

Sorry for the delay :X

Although not one to judge quickly, he wasn't sure what to think as he took in the words of Charon; bears were stupid, wild creatures and it had been a different bear who had caused trouble. But what would be next; rival packs? Cougars? In doubt the black-painted male sighed softly. ”Actually they don't cause trouble in winter; well, usually they hibernate. And – and they are only agressive when they're threatened, need to defend their territory or have youngsters. Do they have youngsters? 'Cause this isn't the right time. We're not their enemy, we're neutral to them. Well, usually.” And thus, the bear rant began.

no prob <3 poor horcrux. you must be so proud of fatalis' grandson's great empathy and intellect lmao. XD

Horcrux got weirdly protective of the bears, almost like he was some sort of bear spy and wanted to break the Moonspear wolves from the inside out. Of course such things were unheard of and ridiculous; Charon had never heard of wolves liking bears, let alone spy for them or take their side. Horcrux spoke of hibernation and how they wouldn't be much trouble now; that had to be why Charon couldn't find them for a while now that a plan was formed, even though he had wanted to get them as soon as possible.

"Dude, chill," Charon said, deciding not to take Horcrux' weird obsession with the positive aspects of bears personally. "Look, whatever they think about this territory being theirs doesn't matter, 'cause it's ours. And if they show their faces around here again and threaten our pack, our wolves, they will pay for it. Now are you going to fight with us to protect our family and home when that time comes or are you going to protect a bunch of dumb ass bears and debate us into leaving them alone while the bears maul the shit out of you?" It wasn't really a choice, and Charon hoped that Horcrux understood that he wasn't intending to be a dick by saying it as it was; he just wanted to be sure his wolves were all on the same page.
