another pale wolfess had joined the ridge around the same time of vuk's arrival. shy though she was, the thin woman squared her shoulders and picked up the thin scent of the other's trail. she soon came upon the pallid woman beside a freshly killed rabbit. chuffing her approval, vuk slunk closer, tail wagging to show she meant only companionship. her eyes fell interestedly upon the prey, but she was not truly hungry.
