The Bandrona fell into step alongside her companion as Portia presumably led the way toward her den of choice. She pricked her ears, her heart still fluttering a little nervously in her chest over the whole idea of childbirth. She bit her lip when Portia said she couldn't do much for the pain, which was chief among Wildfire's concerns, naturally. But if generations of she-wolves before her could do it, then so could she. She even contemplated trying to do it all without any kind of medical intervention.

Swallowing a little dryly, Wildfire wondered, "About how long does labor and delivery last?" The Fisa hadn't experienced it herself yet but surely she would have gleaned this knowledge working as a midwife.
