Wildfire would have insisted on accompanying her mate—she was the Bandrona, after all, not to mention the one with an existing if tenuous connection with the matriarch—but she was too far along in her pregnancy now. She wasn't willing to take the risk, nor travel that far. No, she would stay behind in the safety of the territory with Portia and a few guardians.
