In an unexpected turn of events, the goose was tossed and landed at Rannoch's paws. Although greed urged for him to dig in, he resisted. Instead, he dipped his head and offered the stranger a smile. "Thank you," he replied with evident appreciation. With his gratitude offered, Rannoch then tore into the cadaver and ate. 

After a few satisfying mouthfuls, Rannoch licked his lips and lifted his head— he had had enough for now. "I'm Rannoch, by the way," he offered with a smile, "I'm from Sunspire, the pack settled on the mountain over there." Rannoch motioned for the nearby peak before continuing. "Who are you?"
a crime so old as the sky and bone
he came untied, solid as a stone
all is almost lost and it starts to show
