Tula, who had remained hidden amongst the naiad's wild ruff, made her own appearance - a frenzy of wings that landed in the sand between the two wolves.
The bird peered at the unfamiliar male, peeping softly in welcome even as Kai gently tugged the tiny being to rest between her paws. Hugging the bird to her with a careful appendage, she watched the shadow for signs of predatory hunger directed at her feathered friend.
