All Welcome
@Harrison @Iliksis @Grayson @Calloon open to the men and if someone could tag the ladies too! I want this as an aw for rosings.

She had noticed the change starting, the bleeding and then the surges of warmth and an absolutely annoying craving. She knew what it was but she had never been through it before, this was her first heat. She found it excruciatingly difficult to ignore, the urges that told her to seek out a man, any man and offer herself to them in the one way only a woman could provide. She walked through the territory in a sort of haze, panting softly as her scent wafted through the air. The poor girl didn't even know enough to keep her tail tucked to minimize her scent.

After the kind female had led him to their home, he had been content with living again. He still shivered, still found himself to be a rather wimpy male, but he was still alive thanks to the wolves of... Rosings, was it? He hadn't even been able to give his name to the others and so far not many had noted he was indeed mute. Perhaps here he could go on living though, if they wished to have him. Anywhere with others was better than alone in the cold.

It was as this resolution crept in his head that he smelled something strange. He was but a young lad and had never before scented a female in heat before. Or, perhaps he had and simply hadn't know what to do with the information yet. He now knew what mating was, how pups were to be born and raised, but acting upon such urges he had never done. He had never fallen in love nor lust, but his heart did start beating faster when the sweet scent filled the air of their territory.

Almost against his will did his feet bring him to the woman who had come across the man with a death wish, freezing in place when he did spot her. Act casual, act normal. Nobody likes us anyway. Go on, get out of there.

Her body wouldn't be picky about who would mate her but her mind was. She wanted an Odolf and much to her disgust she found herself envisioning Grayson's strong forelegs gripping her around the hips and his jaws roughly seeking hold of her scruff. A low throaty whine left her maw and she closed her eyes, panting harder as the heat engulfing her nether regions grew stronger. When she reopened her eyes she spotted the mute male, the sad little man she had saved from freezing to death. He was cute and there was something intriguing about his sadness, she took a few steps toward him ears perked "It's that time... I'm sorry if I'm bothering you" she was genuinely sorry but there was a tone to her voice, a breathiness due to the fact that every fiber of her body wanted to approach and rub against him.

Calloon had never even thought he would be in this kind of situation. Sex, mating, women swinging their hips... Those were all but distant fantasies that crept up on him every now and then. He wasn't strong enough to be a father. He couldn't even talk to his children if he ever got them or tell his mate how much he loved her. She wouldn't even know his name, his ambitions, the sound of his voice... He wouldn't even be able to wish her goodnight or sing her to sleep.

But "that time"... it was right now. And he was right there. Did she want him? Or was he just at the right place at the right time? She was pretty... But he found everyone pretty, was it enough to act upon urges he had never even felt before? His tail wagged behind him as he shyly shrugged, but his golden ringed eyes soon found hers. Was she just playing with him?

don't act like you would be surprised that grayson would show up. :/

this was his territory, these were his wolves. he had claim over everything and everyone here... at least, in his mind. when the warm scent of heat grazed past his nose, he was furious. it was so early in the season, and he hadn't made a single pair yet. wolves had not been married, and so there would be no loose morals. none

he hunted down the scent, spotting lilah, of all wolves. had he expected it? no. but after their last interaction, it only made sense that she was going about swinging her tail. never mind that it was a natural process of life and that lilah couldn't just make it happen. no, she was a whore, and grayson pinned this on her as such. he spotted a pale male, one that he had scented in the area before but never met officially. if harrison had accepted him, he had no idea, but he himself had not given his subjective stamp of approval.

his hackles rose, teeth bared, snarling. his white gaze flashed upon both wolves and he moved towards calloon. he was not here to take lilah, it was not his place to have a bastard litter with a wolf like her. but it wasn't anyone else's right either. "she's in heat," she growled, teeth clicking as he approached, "back down."

Couldn't not XD
Oryx was not naturally an outspoken or opinionated wolf- but she wasn't sure how to feel when she came across Lilah's scent. Something within her seemed to crak and break apart a bit, and she felt anxious; she was driven to go and find Lilah, and to stay with her, as though to protect her so she began to track down her pack sister in hopes of settling her nerves, if she was worried or anxious about the entire thing. Oryx had yet to go into heat- but just the anxiety from finding out that Lilah had already come into season made her feel as though she'd begun to lose herself to the natural affliction as well. And she wasn't sure how to feel about that, either.

Their group was still small, and the males had not been assigned wives yet, which worried Oryx. She had thought that this might come to pass before the breeding season came around- and it seemed now that Grayson's hand might end up being forced into making decisions sooner than he had intended to. Secretly, she still harboured hope for herself, but as meek as she was, she was too frightened to try and press her luck by tailing the males of the group around. She would rely on fate...And then go through whatever fate spelled out for her.

She was not the only one who had tagged along Lilah's trail, and she whimpered slightly when she saw that both Grayson and another male- one she did not recognize- had found her first. Oryx wasn't sure if she was intruding or not- but it appeared as though Grayson was trying to fend off the foreign male, so to reassure her pack sister- as she felt her duty was- she moved toward Lilah with a soft whine, hoping to distract her and lure her away from the males in case they got violent.

I wanted him to LMAO. Though Lilah is still a good distance from Calloon, neither has really made any moves yet.

Oh he was even cuter when he didn't look so forlorn and sad. The flames threatened to devour her and yet she stayed rooted in place knowing the ways of Rosings prevented her from mating.  still a distance away from him she watched as he shrugged and she stifled a laugh "I..dont know what I'm doing" she admitted, losing the sultry look she had attempted to have just as Grayson barged onto the scene snarling at Calloon and telling him to back off. Lilah's ears went back and her tail flattened as she pressed herself to the ground instinctively.

After a moment she gained her senses and stared at Grayson, eyes narrowing though they stared at the dirt. How dare he? He had absolutely no right to do this! Yet she really knew he did. He was the top dog here, he was the leader, the one who got to say who made children and who didn't. She had no chance of breeding this year, all because she had decided to tell him she disliked how bad he made her feel. Her mistakes shouldn't have to punish the grey male though so she tossed him an apologetic look and belly crawled toward Grayson, pressing her face to the ground at his paws. "Grayson please, he wasn't trying anything. Neither of us were. I've never been touched you know this, I don't know what I'm doing" she appealed to the nature she prayed he held, the one that could blame it on her being a woman, a helpless woman with no control. In all honesty she was in this situation. "I'm sorry for what I did before. I was..very wrong. please don't take it out on him." she tried so hard to remove the focus off of the small male.

But thunder always came after the spark of lightning. Before he could even think of trying anything with Lilah, a male he did not recognize (but which he assumed to be the leader Lilah had spoke of, the one that would accept him) came barging onto the romantic setting they had created. Much like the female in heat did he press his smaller frame upon the ground, paws nearly comically shielding his head and eyes as his butt stuck up and his tail pressed against his undersides. He whimpered what sounded to be an apology, but he had no way of explaining the situation nor that he hadn't really planned on banging anyone ever anyway.

He heard another approach, trying to steal his Juliette away, and he was brave enough to lift one paw to look at the heated situation he had brought upon his almost newly found home. Lilah vouched for him though and he would've done so for her too if he could. He shouldn't have followed her trail... He should've been left out in the cold to die! Stupid, stupid, stupid...

there was submission. on all sides. even as the dark shadow of oryx appeared to shelter grayson, he knew on all ends he had the upper hand. he kept his gaze on calloon, even as lilah gave him some story. he hardly listened, his tail raised in an arc to demand her to hush, paired with a low growl. she had said enough the last few days, he was sick of her voice. she had no right to be so outward.

calloon was submissive, grayson had no further qualms with him. he looked straight to oryx, giving her a nod of appreciation. women would stick by one another, and he appreciated that-- if anything -- about their gender. "please, oryx, take her to her den. i need you to watch over her for the rest of her heat, do not let any males near her," he said firmly, but not sternly, his pale gaze softer upon her than the other two, "keep her safe."

Oryx watched as Lilah quietly protested and made her excuses, and almost fearfully, Oryx's gaze swept over the newcomer, first, and then up to Grayson. She found it difficult to read his gaze, partially due to the colour of his eyes. At least Harrison's gaze had some warmth to the colour, and though Grayson's features were not stony, she still found the man almost fearsome and distant simply due to the lack of colour in his irises. When his gaze turned to her, she wilted somewhat, fearful that she too might be punished for trailing the woman Oryx supposed Grayson might then choose to marry, given the fact that she was the first to come into heat. It wouldn't have surprised her had she and the foreign male been sent away, so that he could have her to himself...But instead, he put Lilah's well-being in Oryx's hands.

She was surprised, but swiftly nodded. Though it made her anxious to approach Lilah, she did so, tail wagging nervously between her ankles, and she touched her dark nose to Lilah's shoulder. She didn't want to have to herd ther woman away, but would guide her and follow by her side closely, so that perhaps other males would be warded off. She was sure she could not possibly fight any males away from Lilah- but perhaps if they saw the two women together, they might simply leave them alone, as it would be impolite to separate them.

Lilah remained postrated  in stunned silence as he commanded her to be quiet. She shouldn't have expected anything else but she supposed she still wanted to believe he wasn't such a prick and that he really did care about her. She didn't want his love anymore, she couldn't imagine being with someone as self centered as him but what hurt is she still wanted his friendship, she wanted him to care that much at the least. She focused her eyes on the ground as they moisture up, her lips quivering as she fought against the tears.

Then he asked Oryx to hide her away, to keep her alone during her heat and prevent her from breeding. That was the breaking point, she let out a choked sob and stood up, turning away from them all "Going as far as to deny me the chance for a husband and children?" she started to say something but only got that much out before she ducked her head and turned away, standing up and allowing the female to lead her away toward her den. When the she wolf offered a consoling touch she slowly and silently pulled herself away, eyes blurry and wide with tears.

His ears flopped up. While the growling had stopped, what he heard next frightened him more. They were just going to hide Lilah away? But she was the only one that could explain his arrival.  She was the only one that could save him from the beating he would likely be receiving. Perhaps he'd even be chased away, unable to protest or even as much as give them his name.

Ooorrghh. A gurgled mess spilled from his throat, mouth wide to produce a sound that vaguely resembled someone's voice as the stump of what was left of his tongue could be seen wriggling in the back. He was trying to say something along the lines of "No, that's cruel" but perhaps only the "no" could be recognized, maybe not even that. His eyes went wide, shocked to say the least that this situation had made him want to scream and shout. But he was far too cowardly to do it, even if he was able to.

was she fucking stupid? was she seriously stupid? grayson stared at her, concern laced in his features as she choked out sobs about how he was denying her the right to breed. with a god damn stranger? who the fuck, in their right mind, would want children by some stranger? he gave a nod to oryx, thankful the woman was taking her elsewhere. he was not barring her from the world, he was barring her from men... the pack was mostly women anyway. how daft was she? women. scoff.

"you will be thankful of this when you are married-- and not with another man's child," he said after her, and then after oryx, "thank you, oryx." and then his gaze was upon the pale man before him, submissive still, but less cowardly. "who are you?" he asked, tone accusatory.

Oryx flinched when Lilah spoke to Grayson, and sensed contempt growing within her pack sister. She attempted to utter a soft growl of warning, but all that came out was a slight wheeze; she didn't have the conviction to raise her voice in front of Grayson, nor did she have the confidence to chastize her packmate, as they were still more or less rankless among each other. Oryx did not want to step on toes- and she felt lightly conflicted when Lilah seemed to want to stay and defend the pale male, who didn't seem capable of verbally defending himself...But Grayson had given her an order. Oryx felt thankful when Lilah began to move away, and she nodded once to Grayson before she moved alongside her packmate, hoping that they wouldn't overhear anything they didn't want to overhear.

Grateful? She would be grateful when she carried the child of a man picked out for her, instead of someone she picked? Before this moment, before she had actually felt the breeding desires, she had been okay with this. Now she was not. Now she was not okay at all with being ruled and governed by a man who knew Absolutely nothing about caring for anyone but himself. How could he expect her to be grateful, being forced to hide away this season while he would eventually pick husbands and wives and allow them to breed? When she had gone into heat first? She would not be grateful. She would have voiced this but the weak little noise of warning from Oryx made her instead turn a sharp look at her pack sister. The only vocalization she gave to Grayson was a soft scoff as she began to head off until she heard him begin to talk to Calloon. She panicked internally and paused midstep turning to Oryx and in a hushed tone just between them said "He can't speak. I saved him from freezing to death the other day, i meant to introduce him to Grayson but then...things got difficult between me and Grayson and I...well...this happened." her words shook and she looked over her shoulder "I don't want Grayson to make him leave. He's so...shy and sweet." her voice broke again and she hung her head.

She held back a sob again and sighed "I can't do anything. I can't get a husband. I have to be hidden away until my heat is done." she fell silent again and remained so until she reached her den where she curled up and refused to speak for a while.

He watched as Lilah got taken away by the dark female and was left alone with Grayson. Lilah was his voice around here, how could he ever make clear what he had intended without her? He had kept on living and had immediately caused trouble for everyone around. He took but a few steps forward, almost as if he wanted to chase after the two and make sure someone would be there to speak for him. Though he was rarely quick to judge, he found this Grayson to be unkind. He understood that pups were unwanted, but Lilah should be free to go about her day. If he was able to control himself around her, then so were others. It felt like... she was just an object to make babies now. He didn't think her feelings were being very well considered, but he also didn't know of the history these wolves shared with each other. Nor had he ever been in contact with a female in heat before... How could he know what it was all about.

He looked up shyly to the bigger male, still in his submissive position. He opened his mouth, pawing at his throat. He didn't have Lilah around to tell this man he couldn't speak. Well, not that he ever tried to learn it. He had made sounds just now... Maybe his name would suffice... 'aaajjll...oooornn... He tried his best, his utmost best, but almost only the vowels he was able to spit out. He then gave an apologetic smile, unsure of how to fix all the trouble he had caused by just being in the wrong place at the wrong time...

the women left, leaving grayson feeling thankful for oryx's obedience and level head. he would seek her out later to thank her properly.

why lilah was painting him to be such a terrible man had nothing to do with his actions and everything to do with her emotions. regardless of how he treated her in the past... this was how it should be handled. heat should not be dealt with freely. it caused accidents. and grayson did not want to have to dispose of accidents, it would only cause more problems. lilah would be kept safe among other women until her heat was done. maybe, when she was paired, she would go into heat again. maybe not. maybe she would wait another year. either way, grayson handled this as any leader should.

before him, lay a submissive, pitiful display by a small, pitiful man. grayson might've spit on him... had he done something wrong. but no, he knew his place. and grayson had shown up late, so for all he knew this man too was trying to protect lilah. it seemed the man could not speak, he uttered something that grayson could not make sense of, but assumed it was a name. he did not try to decipher it just yet.

"stand," he commanded, voice not so harsh as it was before.  and when the man did (presumably) grayson addressed him now calmer than before. "my name is grayson odolf, this is rosings," he introduced with a flick of his dark ear, "lilah is in heat, and she is filled with hormones and emotions. it is not safe for her to be in the open this week, that is why i had oryx take her someplace safe." he added then, with a raise of his chin. "she is fond of you, have you met her before?"

He was rather quick to find his footing on his deer-like limbs but they stuck out at the sides to make him appear slightly smaller. Any wrong move now meant he would be sent away no doubt, which meant he wouldn't get to see Lilah again. She had spoken of Grayson and while Calloon had assumed the white-eyed man to be him, it was only now confirmed. His surname told Calloon nothing and the information given he did indeed already know. He just didn't want to know.

His ears pressed down farther and he smiled again. He nodded. If it hadn't been for her, Grayson would've found a frozen carcass on his doorstep instead of having to deal with this situation.

"very well," said grayson, unable to unstick the quirk in his lip as he looked upon calloon quite disapprovingly. if anything, it was just because of how cowardly he was. and, beyond that, lilah had him set high in her mind, and lilah was not his favorite wolf at the moment.

and yet, she stayed to live beneath him. she would drool over him until the day she died.

"you may stay, do not interact with lilah until her heat is finished," he said, giving the man one final look down before he turned and left. over his shoulder, grayson said, "we must keep her safe." whatever that meant in this context, who knew.

He swallowed awkwardly. Usually others sympathized with his situation, but the cold stare of the man called Grayson bore right through his fragile soul to give him the feeling he was less wolf than him. If anyone knew his story, they'd probably not see him as the coward he had become. It almost seemed he had wasted all his courage in his youth.

He nodded, frowning a little. He did understand, but Lilah was the only reason he was there to begin with. When the man walked up, Calloon straightened himself out and went in the opposite direction, probably to sink into a pit of despair again.
