All Welcome
Maybe @Epic if he is in the area?
Having gotten over her bad mood (for the moment), Moorhen continued on her way with a much more chipper spring to her steps. There was half an otter swinging from her jaws as she picked her way through the charred remains of the redwood forest, stopping here and there to observe the sheer size of some of the tree trunks.

It was an interesting place. She'd been born here, she knew, and Moorhen sometimes fancied that she'd recognize the spot if she looked carefully enough. She wouldn't, of course, and she had no real recollection of the great trees before they'd burned, but it was still an interesting thought.

The banded woman (though the bands were smudged with pale ash, now, and looked more like a saddle because of this) slowed as she came to what seemed like an auspicious stand of ancient trunks. She wondered if this was the place, and for a moment, sat down among the ruins to contemplate the possibility.

hi, it's a me instead! ilona can totally still join if she wanna :D

Charon wanted to make his way down to Stavanger bay after he had checked out the more western bits of the coastal area. He'd found no traces of Revui so far, but it wouldn't hurt to stick around the coast a bit longer and check out Stavanger Bay first; he was yet unaware that another pack had settled there.

As he made his way down a little bit south to pass through the Sentinels Charon kept an eye out for falling trees. Though it was some time ago that it had burned down and so the danger was minimised, Charon was always wary still as he passed it. Some trees looked as though they could fall over at any given time, despite it being a long time ago that they'd fallen, despite being in this position for so long.

His footsteps stopped quite suddenly when he heard a sound to his left. No more than a rustle, but it was enough to startle him considering it was on his blind side. Teeth snapped to catch nothing but air in a clicking sound but he saw someone sitting amidst the ruins not far from him, where the sound must've come from. A little rusty in socialising with wolves outside of his pack -- an odd thought to Charon, who'd been very outgoing and met strangers all the time in his younger years before becoming father atop of Alpha -- he approached and chuffed to announce his presence. Maybe she knew something about Revui's whereabouts.

Ditto from me, Ilona! But I am excited to have caught a wild Charon as well >.>
So deep was her contemplation that she almost missed the approach of another. It was only his sudden motion that drew her attention (although she missed what it was he had done) and she was startled by how close he had gotten without her realizing it.

But, by the time he hailed her and began making his way toward her, Moothen had collected herself once more. In preparation for socalization, she set her half an otter just behind her and stood to meet the male a few few away from it, cracked, leathery nares twitching as she took in his scent. Jaarilo, she said with a wag of her tail. Obviously this wolf wasn't him, but he smelled like him. Um. Come from - Did she know the name of Jarilo's pack? If so, she could not remember it. Come from mountain?

It made sense. Jarilo and this man both had veered toward her as soon as they'd seen her. Perhaps it was a weird mountain custom to thoroughly greet every wolf you came across. The practice struck Moorhen as rather odd, but she knew her own anxieties probably colored her opinion.

Charon wasn't in the friendliest of moods, but when the stranger greeted him by uttering his son's name Charon was positively surprised. He hadn't known her to be one of Jarilo's friends, but it changed everything. His posture became a little less tense and wary, he relaxed a bit. You're one of Jarilo's friends? She asked if he came from the mountain and Charon nodded. Moonspear. He didn't yet disclose the fact that he was Jarilo's father, though it seemed irrelevant.

I'm looking for my son. Yearling, silver, teal eyes. Uyo Revui Ostrega. He waited, hoping that she had seen him but truthfully not very hopeful. His experience was that vanished wolves didn't simply return to your doorstep.

He asked after Jarilo, and Moorhen wasn't sure she'd call them friends but for the sake of this conversation, she bobbed her head in agreement. They were on friendly enough terms. Unfortunately, this was where her comprehension of Charon's words began to degenerate. He named his mountain and said he was looking for someone, and then, well...

"Ohh," said Moorhen, trying to buy herself some time while she sorted through the description in her head. Young and silver and... crying? And she didn't even know those last three words! "No, I im sorry. I do not know," she said haltingly, hoping that this was the truth. She hated to think she might be lying to Jarilo's friend, but she hated more to ask him to repeat himself.

When it came to wolves who didn't speak too properly, Charon always found his patience a little waning. She didn't sound too convinced and if she hadn't been a friend of Jarilo's, maybe Charon would've been a little less friendly about the doubt in her voice. For now, he figured it was just because she didn't speak well that it took her some time to answer. If you see him, could you come to Moonspear and let us know? Odds weren't too high, really, but Charon just hoped that she would memorise the name and description and visit them if she did see them.

My daughter is missing too. Her name is Yami, she's a brown fallish agouti colour. The same goes for her, can you come tell us if you find either of them? He left out that she was missing for longer in case she wouldn't get the message. Charon looked at her face, trying to decipher if she understood. Oh, and I'm Charon Ostrega. Alpha at Moonspear.

She caught it more easily this time. The description was still lost on her, somewhat, but she understood that his children were missing - a son and a daughter. So soon after Undersea's recent scare with Thresher, Moorhen had quite a bit of sympathy for the man.

"Yami," she agreed with a serious nod, and then, "Uyo-vui," in a slightly less convinced tone of voice. "Say again?" she beseached, giving another tiny wag of her tail and hoping the male wouldn't be too irritated with her. And then, just to be polite, "I im Moorhen Cairn, protector of Undersea. Islann." She pointed her nose vaguely in the island's direction, but the marine layer was such that it would be invisible this time of day.

Charon nodded as she mentioned the names again, though seeming to struggle a bit with the pronunciation. At her request he repeated: Yami, and after a few seconds, Uyo Revui. Revui. She then introduced herself as Moorhen Cairn, something to do with a place called Undersea. What an odd name, Charon thought, for a pack to be called. At least he didn't think that she really came from under the sea, like some of the wolves in the stories did.

He caught the other word -- Island -- and though he contemplated asking what sort of island it was and why it was called undersea, he then decided against it. It would be too much of a struggle to get her to understand what he meant and for her to give a proper answer. Thanks, Moorhen, he said instead. Maybe I'll see you around Moonspear when you visit Jarilo sometime? Charon felt that their conversation was drawing to an end and he really wanted to get on in his searches to find Yami and Revui, too, but if she was really a friend of Jarilo's then surely this wouldn't be the last they'd see of each other.

"Yami. Uyo Revui," she parroted, murmuring them to herself a few more times just to make sure they were properly catalogued. "If I see them, I will tell," the Akhlut agreed, for she was all about reunited lost families. And, speaking of families, she should probably be heading back toward her own.

"I will come visit," she agreed, turning away for a moment to grab the half of the otter carcass she'd been carrying. She danced back toward Charon and offered it up. "Peace be," she said sincerely, taking a few steps back from the carcass. "Say hi to Jaarilo from me?"

Charon nodded when she agreed to keeping an eye out for the kids. Thanks, he said, though wondered a little if she would remember the names, considering she was so bad at language. But it wouldn't hurt to have one more person looking out for them. If they would introduce themselves, then surely she'd recognise the names, at the very least.

A promise to visit was made and Charon nodded again. Then she moved away and returned with food she had been carrying. He was surprised at the generosity, and it caused a smile to come forward. Thank you. I'll say hi to Jarilo. Charon nodded and picked up the carcass, then started his departure to find a quiet and safe spot to eat a bit and then decide where his search'd carry him next.
