She had known for some time that they'd abandoned her. Her short lived confidence, her certainty that she could do right by Grayson and Rosings was shattered. Nobody had said a word, nobody had made sure she wasn't left alone and vulnerable. They had just slid away one by one, not a care in the world for Lilah Silverback. She figured they had wanted it that way, they hadn't the heart to tell her not to follow to her face, to tell her she was unwanted. She was numb at first and then had slowly began to ache and hurt, wandering the empty grounds of a home never made and avoiding anyone who came through. She was unwanted and she was lost.

After weeks gone by she had mourned herself hollow, empty. She hadn't spoken a word and the meat left in the caches had been eaten and pillaged by others. She hadn't had a good meal in...she didn't know. Time was lost to her. She crawled from her den and went to the creek, drinking deeply and then looking up and around. She frowned and without knowing why she began to leave the area, to wander silently wherever her paws took her.
