All Welcome

Having skirted a rather large lake the man found himself in some sort of thicket. Branches and tree overgrown, and the path grew narrow and winded wildly. His charcoal tipped ears swiveled atop his head as he tried to catch even the faintest of sounds.

Narrow spaces made Emrik nervous, and the darkness that came with the overgrown vegetation didn’t help him relax. The sun which he assumed was shining fully in the sky was blacked out by the thick trees. He wished now that he had gone around this carnage as well.

& it was probably best that she leave that place anyway.  it would be dangerous to allow her heart to attach to a place so striking in resemblance to the great blue.  the mountains were both tall and ardurous but she'd crossed them now.  onto greener pastures — truly!

the outside of bramblepoint was lush with flora.  these lands were truly an herbalist's dream; she wandered through enchanted by berry and apple until the forest closed in on her with its thorny arms, which reached overhead and blocked out the sun.

the land she had come from had a place like this, too.  it was a thorn in the paw to harvest from, but the herb inside was often worth it.  curious, she pulled in deeper, unaware of her company until the darkness revealed his form in the shape of his guard hairs, barely illuminated.

close quarters, she mumbles, backing into the thorns to give him space.  (she could spare it).

Although he had thought himself vigilant the man was startled by the rust colored woman. Thankfully she took a step back just as he did. “Ah… sorry didn’t see you there.” Emrik shrugged sheepishly and offered a kind smile. He was a pretty open guy, and found that the attitude he portrayed was often returned in kind. Naturally that meant if he wanted to be trusted he too would need to trust.

“Close quarters are right. You can’t see anything in this place.” He laughed slightly, before looking around, “Which way you headed? He wasn’t sure there was enough room for the two of them to squeeze by. If she was trying to go the way he had come, then surely he would have to turn around and backtrack. That was if he could turn around. One of them might be backing out of here. And being the gentleman that he was, he would offer first.
