Pack Activity
she'd felt the changes, minute and careful, but not unnoticed. and so when the ground had seemed the breathe and thunder beneath their paws a few days later, and that primal fear lanced down her spine for the first time, she had not been surprised. they had not ceased since.

the sea-witch can not shed the heavy mantle of foreboding. and so when next the ground shifts beneath her paws, she draws towards the center of the territory before calling for the pack, voice calling out as the last vibrations faded. this was not something they could simply become used to; the earth's thundering is a harbinger, of what she can not know, only that they must be prepared.

He'd decided almost immediately that he was not fond of these wolves and their passive nature. To be around and among others so lax unsettles him, the young Gona groomed from birth to face his life's purpose of war. Elysium is not strong, he recognised, and it sparked an idea that he nurtured quietly.

Dacio maintained a distance from them, confiding only in @Opalia of his very obvious concern. Elysium's adult members were few, he had noticed, but the ranks (or lack thereof) swelled with juveniles. Youngsters brimming with curiosity, of a tender age that it was not too late to teach them the ways of warriors. How had a pack so soft survived this length of time, without outsiders using their kindness to their advantage?

The sterling yearling had been seeking his littermate when the ground shook beneath him, a low rumble that brought him to a halt. He bristled, peering down at the earth as its grasses shook, and responded with a growl of his own.

Tremors continued, and Dacio resumed his search for Opalia at a quickened stride until a voice rose, summoning Elysium's wolves to the territory's core. Despite the distaste he had for their strange way of life, he veered toward the sound purely because he felt it would be the best place to locate his sister.

First to arrive, Dacio regarded the silver leader coolly and silently, unsure if the trembling earth was her doing.

The low rumbling shook him from his thoughts. Minnow was still out there, still wandering. She had promised to come home after a few days, it had been a few days now. It took a few moments to register that the rumbling had not ceased and that the ground trembled lightly beneath his paws for a long moment, his eyes going wide and fur rising along his spine. This was not a normal thing, this was some sort of incident that he had never witnessed in his life. Thel's howl grabbed his attention and he moved toward her, his gaze sweeping over their newest recruit and pausing for just a moment at the expression that was on the man's face. Sunny ignored it for the time being and looked at Thelxiope "That wasn't a storm, it came from the ground. Are you okay? Nobody got hurt?" the concern he felt was evident both in his tone and on his expression.

She had been trying to wind down and rest as the peaceful forest wanted, but none of this was helping a cause such as that. Her side was still aching, and sure, they had a home with experienced healers, she had noticed quickly how different it was here from the cliffs. Something about it made her feel... exposed, and like there was a lot needing done still where it came to defense here.

Thankfully she was used to feeling like watching her back from her time roving alone and now Dacio's was very much a part of that too, but he was another set of trusted eyes for hers as well. It didn't seem like Rusalka was going to track them immediately, or any of the other wolves involved in their skirmish so soon--but she simply couldn't ignore the suspicions that she stewed on.

Such a great, rumbling earth only gave her something else to dwell on now and as the tremors continued, she peeled back her lips into a fully-faced snarl. Why now? she seethed, not that she could yet possess any greater understanding of her very own.

Despite it all, stormy, anxious thoughts all entailed, she came towards the heartland when the call rose up; she trotted delicately in beside Dacio, of course. Hotly she glanced around, but settled on her brother the longest before she poked her nose against his shoulder in greeting. For now, she said nothing, but settled in next to him to peer intently towards the leaders from past her sibling's side--drawing some solace in the familiarity, but still full of a coiled, fresh kind of dread.
