A peaceful day, of gentle forecast of drizzling rain. Safely inside however, she remained in a hole where occasionally, the sound of the twins could be heard. Darkness within their small den, a hole in the ground, quietly suited for the beginning of the two. Miriam looked out from the darkness, two shining white eyes staring out as she watched the world in silence, hearing and smelling what was around.

Stone had managed to subdue most of his itchy skin with a dust bath, but that left him covered in patches of grey and brown, which he either did not notice or did not care enough about to clean away. The itch prevailed along his belly, and so while Stone hiked along through the forest he would occasionally kick at himself, raising a hind foot to scratch at his undercarriage in the manner of an angsty colt.
He picked his way along in such a manner without noticing the den mouth as he passed it; but when a movement in the trees drew his attention, he was briefly struck dumb by the glimmer of pale eyes in the dark. The squirrel that had initially drawn his eye was immediately forgotten while the blood in his veins chilled.
