All Welcome
It was late but he couldn't sleep.

No real or particular reason, he guessed. Nothing to make him sweat or worry. After laying in his den for hours it seemed, Dorian moved outside to the fresh air. Crisp, cold air... it billowed his thin coat, sending shivers down his spine. He stretched idly for something to do before flopping down.

Laying outside of his den, the coywolf glanced around the near empty camp. He said 'near empty' because he did see movement in the near distance... but the scent was Kaistleoki. Dorian wasn't about to wake up the camp with a yell in their direction though. He kept himself quiet.

But would converse if they came over to him.

There was a fault in the limber step of the little mouse tonight.

His time within the borders of Kastleoki had proven to be lonely for Dante, though he'd begun to question whether that was the product of his own will- some mix of self-pitying and deep introspection delaying him from putting any real effort into making connections within the pack. It wasn't like him, and the young man's own distaste for himself grew with each moment he recognized the dejected mindset guiding his actions. Though perhaps he might have done something productive with the recognition of his despondency, the boy could instead be found spending most of his time wandering aimlessly along the riverside, or tucked away in the secluded shallows that flanked the rushing water which he'd discovered only a few days ago (and which was quickly growing much, much too cold for wading in with the frigid breath of winter).Tonight his meandering had found him tripping down a bit-too-steep of an outcropping, leaving Dante with tender paws and a bruised ego to match as he made his way back into the heart of the territory.

It was only when an unfamiliar scent on the brisk evening breeze met his nose that Dante's gait slowed, wide olive eyes blinking slowly as he came to a stop. Through the shadows he could only make out a small flash of fur, but the presence of another was undeniable, and the mouse couldn't help but be curious. With a soft chuff of greeting, he made his way forward, murmuring a warm 'lo? out of habit, though with the cautious distance between them Dante was unsure if his greeting would register with the stranger. Still, the boy waited patiently for a semblance of a response, still squinting to make out his unknown acquaintance.

"Oh. Hey there, buddy" New buddy, that is. A new face to remember, and a purpose once more. Fleeting as it was, Dorian couldn't help but grin widely. His tail beat against the ground at the other's presence, nose picking up the scent of a male. "can't sleep either?"

His voice was low to be considerate of the others in the pack. They were snoozing away, without a care in the world. Ah, bliss. Now that he had someone to quietly talk to, Dorian felt better. Especially since this was a new face to him. He liked - no, loved - meeting new wolves.
