All Welcome
If you were ever concived, nursed and raised in a place that practically never sees anything except snow (like Artemii was), then you'd think it was still summer over here. Well, he was sure it was Autumn; why else would his coat be slowly turning him into a messy cotton ball? He's unsure whether to call this a blessing or misfortune because, while its possible that winter won't be as bitchy here, does that mean he'll have no snow to roll in if the time ever came? The boy would practically start bawling his eyes out if its true.

Dimitri surely didn't like this place -- understandable enough for him to get homesick, who wouldn't? Maybe that's why he'd been pecking at the back of his head so much -- just so Artemii could turn back. Well, a tantrum wasn't gonna make him budge, and he simply responded with the occasional "Тише, Дмитрий, тише!". There was no point in going back home; they're presence was no longer welcome. No matter -- Artemii will just take his brother and leave. Even if he failed to understand why.

Evening's sunset left a beautiful orange hue on both the plains and Artemii's cream pelt, though his short legs sadly couldn't reach above the tall grasses to gaze at the darkening sky. He settled down to his haunches with a sigh and heavy lids. Mabey this is a good place to rest for the time being...

It had been a while since the freckled boy had been in these plains. He was so close to his old home that he felt a little guilty not visiting, but that had not been why he came here. In fact, it hadn't really been his choice; he had followed Kora here, curious to see what she was up to this time. Typically, she led him to sources of food, but since he hadn't been hunting and they had just eaten recently, he didn't think that was the case tonight.

The raven soared high above the long grass, her blue black feathers standing out against the orange and pink of the sunset. He followed her to the base of a tree, where she perched on the highest branch and cawed at him before settling down. He furrowed his brow at her, confused as to why she stopped here and wondering if she had actually been trying to lead him anywhere. Shaking his head, Acheron turned from the tree and looked around. He trotted through the field, inspecting the area for anything interesting. A chilly breeze drifted through the grass and when he lifted his muzzle to draw in the scents of the valley, his nose was filled with the fresh scent of a stranger. They were close by, and he decided to check it out.

The trail led him farther into the plains until he saw the stranger, just barely though. He was hardly taller than the grass, but Acheron could see the white of his fur against the green and brown of the field. He approached slowly, stopping a respectful distance away and releasing a soft chuff. Hey, he said after, trying to read the other wolf's expression to attempt to gauge his level of interest in company from a stranger.

"Знаешь, Дмитрий? Может, это место не так уж и плохо. Мы сможем найти приют вскоре после хорошего отдыха ..." he explained to the mourning dove on his shoulders, smiling at the sky with an all-too optimistic grin. Yes — this is okay. It didn't matter if the boy was lost beyond all comprehension, or that Dimitri caused a pecking sore on the back of his ear for the third time today. All the boy had to worry about right now was finding a place of acceptance for both of them. Even if that meant stopping to take in the view once in a while...

And then it happened; Dimitri once again spoils the moment of brotherly bonding by beating his wings against the back of Arty's head and cooing frantically (man, this current reincarnation of his brother was too rowdy.) "Черт побери, Дмитрий! Стоп! Прекрати!" The yearling shouted as he shut his eyes tightly and shook his head in an attempt to quell the battery; a clown fest. What could've frightened him to this point? It was hard to tell if he was currently fighting with a bird.

To Arty's relief, the avian's panic would soon cease and give him a chance to look and see who it was. Another wolf — probably around Artemii's age — with strange freckly patterns splotched on his face and chest.....nahhh, who was he kidding? This boy looked normal in comparison to bug-eyed Artemii. Besides, Arty found his pelt quirky looking in a good way. Better strange than boring and monotoned, right?

The young sire coughed and stared the other way awkwardly, shaking the stray feathers out of his head in an attempt to seem like he didn't get smacked around by a bird. "Isn't sunset sight to look at? I usually never get to see it much back home. Very dark. Very kold...." Though it didn't make his winter-wonderland of a home any less of a beauty. Mother nature had her way of crafting an array of lovely messes.

"My name is Artemii, and zis..." He turns his small head and noses the random bird that decided to pitch a ride one day his twin brother gently. The bird turned his head away and began preening its wing with disinterest "Is my tvin brother, Dimitri. Ve kome from far avay land."

Acheron's eyes widened at the scene that played out in front of him. He watched silently as the bird repeatedly flapped its wings against the stranger's head. And then finally the stranger yelled back in a language he had never heard, and the bird quieted. It was then that the other wolf turned to him, looking him over before turning away awkwardly. Acheron raised an amused eyebrow but said nothing of the situation.

It wasn't until the stranger spoke heavily accented words that he could understand that Acheron finally responded. He nodded and glanced up to the sky. Yeah, it is really pretty, he answered with a friendly curve of his lips. He was interested to know more about this home that was dark and cold, but then the other boy was talking again, introducing himself. He dipped his head, still offering a smile.

He tried to keep the confusion from his face when Artemii introduced the bird as his twin brother. He was much too polite to question it without knowing the other wolf better, so he just nodded again and glanced up at the bird who seemed to want nothing to do with him. Acheron chuckled at that. He pointed his nose up to the tree where the raven had settled to watch over things. That is Kalona, she travels with me and alerts me of danger, he explained. And I am Acheron.

instead of asking about his twin, Acheron settled on his first area of interest. Where is your home? he asked. He had never known such a place existed.
