Liri glanced briefly at her sister, listening silently to the question she asked. It wasn't something she herself had thought to wonder, but now she looked with interest to Germanicus for the answer. He supplied it in short order, sparking her interest even further in several ways. Mostly, in her imagination.

She was a soldier.

Valiria straightened a little and lifted her chin, allowing a small grin to stretch across her lips. She knew about soldiers--you couldn't grow up in Mereo and not know about them. It had never occurred to her before that she could be one, though. The idea was a thrilling one to her young imagination. She could be like her daddy!

"Can I try?" she asked in her small, musical voice. Her eyes widened slightly as she said it, almost as though she had surprised herself with the request. She stared at the rabbit eagerly, her heart now pounding with adrenaline and nerves.
