Gonna go ahead and post!

Everyone followed Somnia's instructions and got into position. Elwood waited tensely for the go-ahead from Ashton, and as soon as the healer's howl sounded, his gaze snapped to Somnia. He watched as she enticed the coyote to follow her, leading it towards Tempest.

So far, so good; she passed the rabid creature off without any issues. Tempest was beelining for Elwood with her pursuer in tow. When the time was right, Elwood started to trot away from them, slowly increasing his speed until he was running. By that point, Tempest had retired and the coyote had set its sights on Elwood.

With quick glances over his shoulder, he judged the coyote's speed and adjusted his own accordingly. It faltered and nearly fell at one point, but the Beta checked himself and waited for it to resume the chase. Mikael was next in the lineup, and once the crazed animal had directed its attention to the cream-colored male, Elwood circled back towards Somnia.

Just gonna go ahead and post so we can maybe wrap this one up since it seems like we'll be losing some of our number soon ):

As little faith as she had in the plan, everything seemed to go just the way Somnia intended. One by one, her packmates took their turns leading the coyote on and passing it off onto the next until suddenly it was Fin's turn. The coyote raced forward after Mikael, spitting mad at his heels. Just as the male veered away, Fin was right there, snarling and snapping at it so that its attention turned towards her.

Fin felt almost gleeful as it chased her, loving the feeling of adrenaline pumping through her veins. It had been quite a while since she'd had a thrill like this - not since she'd been nearly ripped in half by that bear. It was nice to feel death and destruction running along just behind her. She was a little sad when it came time to whirl away and leave the rest of the journey to Ashton. She waited only a few moments before picking up her pace again to follow a good distance in their wake, eager to continue her assistance in case it was needed when the time came to actually drown the rabid beast.

We lost Ashton in the activity check! I guess I'll conclude this then.

In the end, everything worked out alright. No one had been bitten, and the rabid coyote was in Lake Rodney. With everything settled, Somnia felt no need to stick around. She congratulated her pack-mates on a job well-done, then excused herself. Even with the rabid creature dead, there was no telling how many other creatures it had passed the disease onto. Luckily, she found no other diseased creatures near the pack.
