Pack Activity
@Scarlett @Raziel @Néa @Rhythm @Normandy @Outcry @Adlartok @Honihetane
This pack activity is, by no means, mandatory. We do hope many of you will join in, though.
With the success of our weekly back hunt, the wolves were rewarded with the heart of a deer. The pack members will be called to play a game of rugby (or at least something similar) with said heart. Tackling is allowed in the game, things will most likely end up getting competitive, but it's more for fun. Takes place in the open space outside of the maple forest, on the side of the river opposite to boulder path. First round ends on April 12th.

During their most recent hunt, the wolves had managed to bring down a buck. It'd been young and foolish, and, best of all, injured from what was believed to be a fight with another male. The task of bringing it down had been easier than if it'd been matured and healthy, and left the pack with a fine meal. The first few bites after ending it's life had been wonderful, and Kove hoped that it would be just as good even after the passing of a day. He made his way to the cache in which it'd been stored. Once the carcass had been uncovered, and the man had eaten what he'd wanted to, he started to return it to it's previous place. He stopped, however, when he'd caught sight of the best organ—the heart. His head darted in and he went to work with detaching it from the rest of the body.

The first thought that entered his mind once he'd freed it from the inside of the body was to eat it. Then, that was replaced by the idea of an event, a game within the pack. Gently, he took the heart between his maw and started towards an open space, steps careful so as not to damage the soft organ. Not yet, anyways. It was bound to be destroyed over the course of the game, especially if things got competitive. Kove crossed through the river in the shallowest place he could find, and didn't stop until he was farther into the open space on the other side of it. The heart was then placed on the ground as carefully as he could manage, and his head immediately tilted back right after. He called for every member of the pack, then sat down and waited with the life-organ at his paws. Even before anyone arrived, he held a wide grin across his face, excited to do some pack-bonding.

Scarlett was curious to see what Kove would be doing with the heart. She lowered her head to eat some more from the deer she helped to take down. With her mate it felt good to provide for the pack. The red eyed female was told to eat more and care for herself she let Kove wander off with the heart. He probably wanted it for himself or something. Scarlett didn't mind she had other organs to eat from. She would let Kove go her own way. When he howled the female curiously looked up. The stag was on their lands so Scarlett didn't bother to drag it to another location.

The white female made a stop in the river to wash herself. Scarlett quickly rubbed her muzzle clean and then trotted over to see Kove standing there. She approached him in a playful manner. "What are you up to?," she questioned curiously without judging him. They talked about a celebration. They had the deer as a meal if their pack members wanted some.

Artok grimaced as the first howl rang out. Great, Kove was calling the pack. Did he really want to go see that ugly mug? Not really, but he couldn't disappoint Miss. Scarlett in such away. So with one last cursory sniff at the front of the pack lands, he turned and trotted back towards the sound. His trot was a bit ungainly, and his shoulder shifted in odd ways, but he was doing fairly well. He was able to handle walking and hunting now.

When he got there, he gave Kove one dark look, but he nudged Miss. Scarlett, giving her a sloppy son kiss to the face. Settling to his haunches a little bit aways, he watched the heart with a dark humor. Wonder what they were going to do with that, it could possibly be fun. Even if Kove thought of it, he supposed he could give the man a little bit of credit. Though it was probably, Miss. Scarlett that thought of it. That dark ass was probably just taking credit for it. Yea he nodded his head up and down, that was it. It had to be, there was no way that male was that smart. He smirked and waited.

A brief scowl crossed the Roman's features when the howl rang through the valley, summoning all the pack wolves to Kove, the white king. He had been in a middle of a hunt and the howl had scared away the nearest prey for miles around. Perfect. Perfect timing. But Raziel went anyways, for he needed to show his loyalty to the pack and if he did not answer when the Alpha called? Well, he was pretty sure that was not a good demonstration of the word, loyalty. It wouldn't be a good demonstration even if he did come, but at least it wasn't a terrible one.

It took sometime to arrive there, but he came finally and was greeted with the sight of the Alpha pair and a youngster the Roman had not seen before. It did not matter, he smelled of Bearclaw Valley and therefore family. Someone which he did not need to chase away. Between Kove's paws was the heart of a deer and he wondered what they were going to do with it. Nothing came to his mind. But he would know soon enough. "Hey," he greeted with a brief nod to both his superiors and the youngster.

Sorry for the hold up, guys! This month seems to be a busy one for everyone, so the second round ends after everyone has posted at least once again. Not going to force a deadline on anyone. c:

Kove offered the albino a smile and a wag of his tail as she approached, having been the first to arrive. “I'll let you know soon,” he told her, awaiting the arrival of the others. Waiting for everyone who wished to participate to arrive before explaining it was definitely the easier way to go. It would waste time repeating the same thing over and over again, and his eagerness had him wanting to not waste a single moment. Next to arrive was the boy, who greeted him in the same manner as he'd been expecting. The man was unsure what he'd done to deserve such a long-lasting hatred from the younger male, but had always figured it best not to question it, so as not to send him off into a fit. Especially now, he forced his thoughts back onto his reasoning for calling everyone, not wanting to drain the life from his good mood. The Inuit greeted Raziel as he arrived with a nod of his head and a smile across his maw. He waited a few more moments, hoping the others would come as well, but when no one came he decided it was time to get to the point. If anyone came later on, he would, of course, allow them to participate, but wasn't going to wait around for them all day long.

The ghost glanced at the heart for a brief second before bringing his gaze back up to his fellow pack mates. “Recently, Scarlett and I have made our relationship official,” he started, sending the crimson-eyed woman a quick smile before continuing. “We had spoken of a celebration of sorts, but hadn't been able to decide on something. This heart had given me an idea, though.” His smile became a rather excited grin. He just couldn't help himself. It'd been forever since he'd played a game of any sort, and was eager to get the ball—or, rather, the heart—rolling. “A game. Two teams going against one another, both with the intention of grabbing the heart and scoring a point,” he stood up, tail waving behind him all the while. “The rules are simple. All you need to know is to not hurt anyone in an extreme way. No permanent injuries should come out of this. Make sure you get the heart passed the place needed, or else it won't count as a point. What do you all say?” Kove hoped no one would object, as he was really looking forward to playing. Even if one wolf didn't wish to play, the game would not be able to go on, given the fact that few had showed. His gaze moved from the other males to his lover, and he gave her a reassuring smile, almost as if to make sure she did not worry over what would happen over the course of the game. “You can pick the teams, if everyone's up for it, Scarlett,” he told her before looking to the others again.

A howl rang out over the valley. It called for every member of the pack. It came from far though. She would have to run if she didn't want to miss whatever this meeting was about.

Rhythm trotted through the valley towards a small gathering of her pack mates. She seemed to be late to the party. "Hey, uh what have i missed. I was out wandering and couldn't get here fast enough," she stared at her paws briefly in shame. However it couldn't be helped.

OOC: Sorry its short, couldnt think of much else to write. Im home now though. So ill be able to post more. I was in spain for a couple weeks so i wasn't able to post.

Scarlett was pleased to see Raziel and Adlartok approach and respond to the howl. the red eyed female disliked how many had left it was making her insecure about her leadership. She disliked to think about it too much and greeted both joining males with her kindness that was always present. Her white tail happily wagging while she was seeing them. She then took her place next to Kove if this was everyone that showed up they were rather pathetic in numbers. Scarlett would not let it show. Hopefully her heat would come soon and that would give their pack some more numbers.

Scarlett lovingly nudged Kove when he spoke about them wanting to celebrate them making their relationship official. A hum came from her throat. The game would be interesting. And having some fun was most definitely the right thing to do. She shouldn't dwell on the declining numbers of her pack she should have fun with the members they have now. The red eyed female was pleased to hear she was allowed to pick teams when Rhythm joined. Scarlett was pleased to see the female after not seeing her for a long time. She was glad she returned from whatever she came from. "Kove and I got mated and therefor we wanted to have a fun celebration. We took down a deer further down but now it was the idea to have a fun game with the deer's heart," Scarlett explained. "Me, Adlartok and Raziel against Kove and Rhythm?," she then suggested. She had the idea that if she put Adlartok and Kove together that they would be more squabbling than playing.

Artok didn't say anything, simply waited. The game was intriguing and he looked forward to it. After all he was a boy, not yet a man. And even men enjoyed games. While they spoke he wanted to throw up at Kove and Scarlett, but he kept his cool. Calm and collected was what he was. He waited and then when she picked teams. He was pleased that he was on her team, rather than Koves. He would have played on the other's team of course, without argument, though he wouldn't have liked.

He nodded to her and moved to get into place. He could have fun with this. A light came into his eyes and he grinned snarkly as he waited. This was goin to be fun.

"Congrats you guys," Raziel offered them a full hearted smile as they announced that their mateship was now official. Now, the were an Alpha pair instead of simply two wolves who were up for the Alpha job. The game that Kove described seem fun, and although they were adults, he was pretty sure they never got too old for good games like this. Besides this game involved tackling and running and scoring and he really loved games like those.

"Sounds good to me," the Roman said even though he felt like he should team with Kove and simply smash the other team. But then, you couldn't get everything you wanted with life, right?

It seemed everyone was excited to play the game, which the Inuit was happy for. It had been tough thinking up something that would work, that everyone had a chance at enjoying, but it seemed as if he had ultimately succeeded. A smile stayed upon his face the entire time, for numerous reasons, and he listened closely as Scarlett picked out the teams. He was glad to have not been made to team up with Adlartok, since it seemed the boy was still not a huge fan of him. It would have been tough playing a team orientated game with a member who wasn't exactly on your side majority of the time. Though he would have tried, he was sure it would not have ended well, and was also not too keen on the idea of trying to force things between them. He believed the boy would come around eventually, maybe even after the game if he really enjoyed himself. “Those teams sound good to me,” Kove told her, then flashed a grin at his teammate. The man did not know her as well as he would have liked to, but you didn't exactly have to know every little detail about someone to play a game, so he didn't linger on that.

The Inuit man's head nodded in thanks when Raziel congratulated them, then he moved and gently bumped Rhythm's shoulder. Winning would be nice, but he wanted to make it known that the fun aspect of the game was what he had really been after when suggesting it be played. He then retrieved the heart and placed it before the albino, careful as ever so as not to damage it. “Your team can start with it,” he said, then took a few steps back. The excitement within made him feel like a child, being praised or coddled for doing something 'amazing'.

"Sounds good to me," Rhythm said glancing over at her teammate Kove. She was sort of glad that they were on a team together because it would give her chance to get to know him a little better. Out of all the members in the pack he was the one she knew the least about. She smiled as he grinned at her and then watched as he picked up the heart and gently placed it in front of Scarlett's paws.

Rhythm still wasn't 100% sure how this game worked but she got the idea. She too took a few steps backwards. She thought this would be fun. Also a challenge. Their team was only slightly outnumbered but she didnt think that would be much of a problem. "It's on," she said teasingly in the other teams direction.

Scarlett grew excited too. They would definitely need to win this. Scarlett looked at her team and nodded. Perfect. She had Raziel and Adlartok that would be totally doable in winning terms. Scarlett was quick and grabbed the heart. She already sped away around Kove. Her tail flagged behind her as she looked around for a team mate to pass the heart to. She tried to throw it in a way that one of her team members could grab the heart while Kove and Rhythm couldn't. Scarlett laughed after the heart flew towards Adlartok. She then moved towards Kove and jumped before him to defend him from going to adlartok and he could make a run for it.

"Hey, Kove, hey," she spoke as she jumped from left to right before him, to then jump on top of him. "I like you," she laughed trying to keep the male down and away from the heart. By the looks of it Scarlett could be a little bit sly while playing the game. She was totally using her feminine charms, and Kove's love for her to distract him. "GO AD! RUN RUNNNNNN!!," she supported. "Make the score!! Get the heart between those two rocks!" Scarlett had the most fun. They should definitely do it more often. Maybe give it a name. Bearclaw Tackle Heart or any other name. She would suggest that after they totally won this round.

Ad saw the heart coming, and despite his limp he managed to jump and grab it. Turning he smiled, sickly behind teeth stained with blood. Being sure to keep a gently firm hold onto the heart, he began to run. The sound of Miss. Scarlett egging him on. He dipped an dodged and finally he made it. Tossing the heart towards the rock, and hoping there was no one there to intercept it. He would head butt those that came to near.

Since the game has started, there's no post order. Just post in a way that makes sense, if that makes any sense, aha.
Basing this post off of my very limited knowledge of football, since I still know nothing of rugby, aside from the fact that it's similar to football.

Kove had not expected his lover to play dirty, given her nature, but it seemed even she became competitive when a competition was introduced. One moment he was giving her the heart to start the game off, the next he was being knocked down by the little female. Had it been anyone else, he would have kept himself standing up straight, but since that could result in her falling back instead, he allowed her to knock him over. The man could not help but chuckle at her words, and even marvel at the amount of encouragement she gave the boy, but her shouting was quick to pull him from his love-induced trance. First he positioned himself, as she was clearly distracted by her running teammate, then he rolled himself about in order to reverse the rolls, but did his best to prevent the quick movement from harming Scarlett. For a moment, he watched her, a sly grin on his face, before giving her a lick over her nose and then taking off after Adlartok. Already, his team was off to a rocky start, but they still had plenty of time to turn the tables.

By the time he'd reached the boy, the point had already been scored. Shrugging it off, since the game was only just beginning, he trotted passed the boy in order to retrieve the heart; but not before stopping by Ad first, of course. “Nice score,” he stated, wanting to try and keep a somewhat light air to the game, and also to continue on with his goal of gaining the male's acquaintanceship. Without waiting for a reply, since he didn't really expect one, he continued forward to retrieve the heart, then made his way back towards the starting point of the game. He waited for the others to get into whatever position a team of three wolves could come up with when playing rugby, and looked to Rhythm as he did so. “Get ready,” he called over to her, voice rather muffled by the heart. “Can't let them win, can we?” He grinned at that the best he could, given the fact that a heart was still secured gently between his jaws.
