Once parted from Reiko, Ibis had a purpose to fulfill. She trailed through the woods until the thin scent of @Kukulkan caught in her nose, and from there she began her investigation. It took her half an hour to navigate some of the paths; they had become inundated with snow and with nobody to break it apart or stomp it down, some paths were blocked off.
From time to time his scent grew thicker or thinner and it took some effort to determine where he'd gone off to. Ibis worried that she'd lost him too, like she had lost so many others; her mind went to Okeanos suddenly as she rounded a bend, and was stunned to realize she'd forgotten exactly what his face looked like. How long had it been since her brother had vanished? Had he been the first...?
Kukulkan's scent grew heavier suddenly and Ibis focused on that, eager to track him down rather than dredge up past failings. His route had taken him to the northern limits of the territory and possibly beyond. As Ibis came to the territory limits (or rather, what had once been the limits) she spied one of the flowers carved in a tree trunk. Upon approaching it a weight came down upon Ibis, a moodiness to her features — and then she murmurs to herself,

At least something will linger on after us.
