All Welcome
flexible with timeframe for this

Bilge rat. Servant.

She fished for the rest of them, and came back later in the day with a few salmon to satisfy the stomachs of Murkwood's finest.

Far better, far above.

She skipped on silent feet, dropping off the last fish and slinking away to the outskirts, where she might meld in with the shadows and get a good nights rest, for once.

What a tedious thing, this whole gig was.

To the forest she would turn her gaze, the thick fog that hung in the night made for a good cover, a coniferous canopy broke apart the moonlight siphoning through.

And the thought came round again. She could run...

How far could she make it? How far would they chase her? Outlast or be outlasted? She let the thought rest at the back of her mind as evening settled upon the coast.

He was a shadow, too. He'd been patrolling the outskirts, taking a break from shielding the Sapphique women from the worst of his crewmates' instincts—or as best he could. It was an easier life, out here; better this way.

He followed the scrawny dark thing, and gave her a chuff before she departed.

Hey, Hex barked toward her, slowing to an ambling trot upon arrival. His nose twitched, catching a briny scent. You smell like fish. Still hunting?

Far from an elegant introduction on his part. He hardly needed it, though. This wolf had been cast out as bait in the raid, offering up her body ahead of the slaughter. He didn't need to be delicate.

But he felt for her, all the same.

SOOOO sorry for the wait here!!

Their crow called for her attention as she attempted to slip away, coyish ears swivel around and inky paws call a stop to their haste, her gaze turned to meet with his own.

No. I'm done for the day. There's plenty of fresh ones to pick from. She'd gesture idly with a nod of her head and the flick of a wormy tail. Internally, she said; 'that better be good enough.'

She did not need to verbalize it. Her glare of dull silver communicated it just fine.

The wounds on her neck have scabbed over, the self inflicted scrapes to her legs doing the same. She looks to him and sees a pelt untouched by the violence of that day and in the back of her mind she cannot help but wonder..

Hey- Did you catch him? The one you chased after? She would ask abruptly and with no segue, leering forward a little.

no apologies necessary <3

He shrugged, casting it off. He had never cared for fish much. It was her next question that intrigued him—and sent a white-hot bolt up his spine.

He jumped into the ocean, Hex replied, shaking his head. I wasn't gonna follow him. He probably drowned.

His golden gaze meandered along her scars, coolly appraising. Why'd you offer yourself as bait?

Especially for a group that didn't care about her. She must have nothing to lose.
