Charon noted that Lex didn't say much in return, and he wondered if his criticism had bummed him out. Charon fancied himself quite the storyteller, even though he'd been rubbish when he was younger, and wasn't that much of a star at it even today. He just wasn't aware of this fact himself because everyone had always praised him for his efforts, all his life, so Charon fancied himself quite the special cookie on all fronts, storytelling included.

Deciding to help out his pack mate even further, Charon hoped to lighten the mood again and avoid too long an awkward silence after Lex had spoken. "Hey, no worries, don't get down in the dumps — you'll get there eventually," he said cheerfully. With a bit more imagination he'd be a great storyteller, surely. Some day.
