Fin felt some satisfaction in that one split second her daughter had stopped and begun to turn back towards her. She felt like she had won, that soon enough Liffey would tell her about this guy and they could talk about it. But when Fin saw fire in her daughter's eyes, she knew that was definitely not about to be the case.

Liffey's outburst surprised her. She had not expected so much emotion, so much passion. She'd expected denial, maybe an omg idek, or maybe - just maybe - resignation and honesty. Finley didn't know what to make of this. Her mind reeled with all the things this might mean, but she zeroed in on one particular point that alarmed her more than anything else.

"Hey, slow down, kid. It'll be okay,," Fin said, standing and moving towards Liffey with more tact than she had shown previously, "What do you mean by 'its over'? You said you only hung out with him once. How is.. what's over? Did something happen between you two?" Like penises?? No, she kept that in her head. But her concern had tempered her so she approached with far more gentility than usual. It was clear that Liffey was hurting. There would be time to murder all the fuckers later than made her little girl sad, but she truly in her heart wanted only to console her in that moment.
