I missed so much! Anyone she hasn't met, or those she hasn't had a thread with in a while, are preferred!

the girl was growing, though not for much longer; she was a little more than a month shy of adulthood. it was not her changing attitude towards adventure and roaming that had kept her here recently, but a sense of duty to her growing family, one she provided for as often as she could. she was unable to stray completely away from her adventures, and it was one of these outings that she returned from now, weary and travel-worn. 

she beelined towards the nearest source of water, a pool that she found she especially liked. still, cool, and clear, it was perfect to sate one's thirst, and this she did now. she drank deeply, breath still coming short, salmon tongue quick to catch the stray droplets that slid from her muzzle. There were new scents here, and the absence of old, something that required prompt investigation.
