she had not returned to the grove since she had last, and did not dare think about the reasons why. did not dare give it though, and so she moved south, to the edge of the valley, in the hopes that movement would leave behind the burrs that clung resolutely to the back of her mind.
it did not work, not entirely, yet she was distracted soon enough by the crunching of bones; here, perhaps, was another predator she could chase off. she did not like the thought of doing so, but with Pema den-bound and Aviana close behind, their stores grew lower each day.
it was the scent and sight of wolf that greeted her, however, when she rounded a thicket. disappointment, at first, and then a quick scan to ensure the meal was small and not worth any type of fight. a chuff, then, a wag of her tail.
