Yes he was :) Also, the post was great!
The beams of soft light poured across the land like rivers of gold, warming the back of the steel soldier as his eyes followed the few moves of the strange girl. The previous grey of the sky had evaporated like desert rain, replaced with a soft pale blue - browning leaves, too, were scattered around like droplets of dew in the early morning, and if he could feel the tranquility that most others would at this time of day, perhaps his lips would have curved in a smile.
Her eyes were most curious of all. Still the Svartell watched, staring as though foraging for some flicker of warmth that could not be spotted from the surface - alas, he returned empty-handed, but it only intruiged him more. Eyes of a deep, hazel brown usually appeared warm and inviting, like a steaming mug of hot chocolate on a chill winter's evening, but these eyes were as cold as snow. As cold as his own. They met his as if in challenge, staring him down. He did not avert his gaze despite this, only continuing to survey with hidden interest. Rising to the challenge, perhaps, whatever it would be.
After a few heartbeats, he took but a slow step forward, eyes locked with hers, unblinking. Now was a question that had wriggled from the depths of his mind - if he took that step forward, would she run? Would she flee, fight, or remain as still as before?

If I cannot bend Heaven,
I will raise Hell.
I will raise Hell.
